Front Desk/Office Assistant – Full Time
The Asheville Radio Group is a subsidiary of Saga Communications, Inc. and is comprised of Mix 96.5, The Mountain 105.9, The River 98.1, The Outlaw 105.5, Rewind 100.3, ESPN Radio 1310 & 970 and The 828.com in Asheville, North Carolina. Saga Communications, Inc. is a broadcast company whose business is primarily devoted to acquiring, developing and operating radio stations and state radio networks. Saga currently owns or operates broadcast properties in 26 markets across the United States. The right person to fill our Front Desk/Office Assistant role will be a detail-oriented person with a winning personality who’ll enjoy greeting our great clients and listeners on the phone and in-person. Primary duties will include operating a multi-line phone system, assisting in general office/accounting duties assigned by the Business Manager including accounts payable, preparing reports for management and providing support for the sales/traffic functions. Experience with Excel, Word and Outlook required. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is a huge plus. Excellent communication and time management skills required. Hours will be Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:30pm. This position requires an individual to work in a fast paced deadline oriented environment where attention to detail is a priority. Applicant should have a strong work ethic and self-management skills.

World Class Morning Show
If you are a creator of compelling content that relates to adults 25-54 in the morning—let’s talk. The Asheville Radio Group (Saga Communications) has a rare morning opening at our powerhouse 50k Classic Rocker, The MOUNTAIN. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: performing a daily ‘world class’ morning show, updating station social media page, ensuring that promotions and contests are executed properly, operating the control board, commercial production work, client friendly at personal appearances at station events and remote broadcasts. Applicants should have at least three years of professional radio experience with the ability to represent the station in a positive manner both on and off the air. Promotions Assistant (Part Time)
Asheville Radio Group is looking for a qualified candidate to fulfill openings in the Promotions Department which supports the events and “street” presence of all four aforementioned radio stations and will be responsible to assist in executing large scale station events and client oriented promotions. If you want to break into the fast-paced world of events & marketing, this job may be for you! Ideal candidates will be responsible, outgoing and organized with the ability to manage time and priorities on your own. You will be performing a wide range of tasks, responding to changes in direction and priorities, and accepting new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments. You must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and the ability and desire to interface with the public, our listeners and clients. You must have the desire and ability to work an average of 15-25 hours a week. Nights, weekends and holidays WILL be required. Internship (Part Time)
Asheville Radio Group offers PAID internships for juniors and seniors who are genuinely interested in broadcasting and marketing in the radio industry. We require that students be enrolled in a college or university internship program with a course advisor. Our internships are designed as “Job Shadow” Intensive Internships. The goal of the internship is to provide a real world work experience and more project focused over the course of the internship period. The selected individual will learn real life responsibilities and skills specific to the department he or she is working in. This opportunity is available in spring, summer and fall semesters in each of following departments:
• Promotions & Events – Assisting in the promotions department with live broadcasts, contests both off-air & on-air, large scale event execution and implementation.
• Programming (On-Air) – Assisting the program director with show preparation, research or follow-through for specific on-air programming as well as board operations.
• Interactive/Graphic Design – Assisting in production of digital assets for clients and station brands, social media applications, and website content development.
• Radio Sales & Marketing – Assisting in the sales and marketing department to develop marketing strategies for clients and learn concepts behind radio sales.
